Mapei - Planicrete

Mapei. Planicrete. Synthetic elastomer

Planicrete is a water dispersion of a special synthetic elastomer, totally resistant to alkaline saponification. It is a very fluid, greenish-white latex which, when mixed with aggregates and Portland cement, improves their plasticity, water retention capacity and trowellability in general. After setting and inal curing, cement mixes modified with Planicrete have a stronger bond to all surfaces, have better resistance to flexing and abrasion, are more impermeable and become resistant to freeze-thaw cycles. They are also more flexible and have better chemical resistance to diluted acids and alkalis, salt solutions, and oils.

  • Where to use:
  • As an admixture to improve the mechanical and adhesive characteristics of cement-based screeds, renders, thin plasters, etc.
  • As an admixture for highly adhesive cement bonding slurries.
  • Some application examples:
  • High strength cement screeds for interior and exterior use.
  • Cement mortars for laying ceramic tiles using traditional techniques.
  • High strength cement renders for interiors and exteriors.
  • Adhesive cement slurries for bonding screeds (also with Mapecem, Mapecem Pronto, Topcem, Topcem Pronto).
  • Adhesive shotcretes for bonding renders.
  • Cement mortars for filling holes, reconstructing damaged areas and finishing surfaces on buildings and precast elements in concrete.
  • Cement mortars for finishing surfaces subject to heavy abrasion (industrial flooring, ramps, canals).
  • Consistency: fluid liquid.
  • Colour: greenish white.
  • Storage: 12 months.
  • Consumption: for the preparation of adhesive slurries: 100-150g/m2. For the preparation of screeds and renders: 50-80kg/m3.
  • Packaging: 10kg drum.

Mapei - Nivoplan

Mapei. Nivoplan. Self levveling screed

Proprietory render for levelling interior and exterior walls and cellings. Suitable for levelling "out of plumb" walls, rough or damaged renders and brick/block walls before fixing ceramic tiles. Ceramic tiles can be fixed onto 10mm NIVOPLAN after 4-5 hours. Application thickness 2-30mm.

  • Consistency: powder.
  • Colour: white.
  • Mix ratio: 23 - 26 parts water per 100 parts of Nivoplan by weight. One 25 kg bag of Nivoplan should be mixed with 5.75 - 6.5 litres of water or with approx. 4.5 litres of water and 1 - 2 litres of Planicrete.
  • Consistency of mix: very pasty.
  • Pot life: 2 - 3 hours.
  • Thikness possible for one coat: from 2mm to 30mm.
  • Waiting time before bonding: >24 hours dependant on thickness and temperature.
  • Waiting time before painting: at least 14 days.
  • Application: Nivoplan sould be applied with a rendering machine, with a flat trowel or screed (for thick layers) under firm pressure to make the mix adhere well to the substrate.
  • Storage: 12 months.
  • Consumption: dependson the thickness of the layer but is 1.5kg/m2 per millimetre of thickness (1cm of thickness = 15kg/m2).
  • Packaging: 25kg bags.

Mapei - Topcem

Mapei. Topcem. Screed

Topcem is a special hydraulic binder which, when mixed with graded aggregates and water, can produce an early drying high strength screed ready to receive floor finishes between 24hrs and 4 days. Formation of bonded, unbonded and floating or heated screeds on both existing and new concrete prior to the installation of wood, PVC, linoleum, ceramic tiles, natural stone, carpet or any other flooring where rapid drying is required for short installation times. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

  • Some application examples:
  • Formation of screeds set to light foot traffic after 12 hours
  • Formation of screeds on which ceramic tiles can be laid after 24 hours.
  • Formation of screeds on which natural stone can be laid after 2 days.
  • Formation of screeds on which resilient flooring and wooden flooring can be laid after 4 days.
  • Patching and repairing floor screeds where rapid restoration is required.
  • Preparation of screeds incorporating underfloor heating systems without the need for polymer additives.
  • Uses:
  • High traffic areas such as airports, shopping centres, schools, hospitals etc.
  • Fast track construction where the screed needs to be trafficked or overlaid early.
  • Suitable for thin resin or cementitious systems such as Mapefloor or Ultratop.
  • Suitable for underfloor heating systems.
  • Suitable for use where BRE screed test category A or B is required.
  • Consistency: powder.
  • Colour: grey.
  • Application: by tamping and skimming.
  • Storage: 12 months
  • Consumption: 2.0 - 2.5kg/m2 per cm of thickness.
  • Packaging: 20kg bags.
